PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES
Individual, Couples, Partners and Family

Psychotherapy is used to diagnose and treat disorders in individuals, couples and families, in adults as well as adolescents, such as:

Depression
Anxiety
Panic disorder
Post-traumatic stress
Obsessional disorder
Bi-polar manic-depression etc.
Grief reactions
Reactions to life-changing events

People learn:

The facts about their conditions
Explore options for coping and improving
Learn to accept that they, themselves, are much grander than any condition
Exchange childhood thinking patterns for mature, thought out
patterns of thought and action
Learn how to present information in a way that enhances rather than destroys communication
Learn how to negotiate rather than giving in or compromising

Our specialized framework helps individuals, couples and families quickly learn how to improve and then resolve acute or long-standing internal or interpersonal issues, starting with each individual’s goals for a shorter or intermediate term intervention.

In many cases, we help people strengthen their relationships, in other cases help them decide about the future direction of their relationships or reach a joint decision through Mediation Therapy: Short-Term Decision Making for Relationships in Conflict. Roommates or couples, heterosexual or same sex, learn critical negotiation skills in roommate or premarital mediation. People who have a primary disorder also use psychotherapy to help them restructure their families or to deal with blended family issues.

Many insurance carriers will contribute to or pay the cost of psychotherapy disorders where there is a diagnosable mental disorder.
